Biography

Yacin Nadji is a computer security post-doctoral researcher with the Astrolavos Lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science under the supervision of Wenke Lee and Manos Antonakakis. His work addresses the areas of botnet takedowns, DNS security and applied machine learning. Past work has examined mobile device security, dynamic malware analysis, web security, and information retrieval.

Nadji completed his undergraduate studies at the IIT where he was a member of the IIT (now Georgetown) Information Retrieval Lab led by Ophir Frieder. He also worked Dr. Dawn Song and Prateek Saxena at the University of California Berkley's WebBlaze security group, where he helped design and implement a tandem client/server-side solution, and a client-only solution, to mitigate a large subset of XSS attacks.
